Welcome!

My name is Joy Henley. I've been doing copyediting work for nearly twenty years. I have worked for university journals, friends, homeowners associations, and students. I've edited website content, newsletters, draft novel manuscripts, and informal communications.

Why should you choose me? I've been doing this for years. I'm good at what I do. My family routinely comes to me for a final pass on anything they will be sending out en masse. I'm an avid reader, and I've been known to go through the church bulletin, marking it up with corrections. (I am so terrible, I know.) My goal is to bring polish and clarity to each manuscript I edit, to preserve each author's voice, to strengthen the prose as much as possible, and to eliminate common grammatical errors. I want your manuscript to shine before acquisition editors and to not be tossed aside on the basis of technicalities.
